Congratulations from everybody at the lab to Amel who successfully defended her DSC Thesis “Usable Security and Privacy of Apps in Mobile Ecosystems”.
Amel’s thesis explores how users experience and understand privacy and security risks in mobile ecosystems. She highlights how to improve users understanding of these security risks through transparency and user control, without compromising usability.
A big thank you to Serge Egelman of the University of California, Berkeley who served as opponent for the defense.
Her work has since garnered media attention in Finland and abroad.
Congratulations DSc. Amel Bourdoucen!
