Congratulations from everybody at the lab to Rongjun who successfully defended her DSC Thesis “Everyday Appropriation of Technology: Experiences, Challenges, and Implications”.

Rongjun’s thesis investigates how people engage with the technology that permeates every aspect of our lives and make it their own. She looks at web browsing, LLM agents, different communication channels, and digital gaming to explore the experiences and challenges users face. She highlights how users deal with information overload and the coping strategies they use, and offers design recommendations on how to help users tailor their software to their needs.
